2016 Therapy Dog Recognition Ceremony

A therapy dog is a dog trained to provide affection and comfort to people in hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, people with learning difficulties and stressful situations such as disaster areas . The handler and dog work as a team to spread happiness, comfort and a feeling of well-being.

Do you have a registered therapy dog? Would you like to know more about becoming a therapy dog team? Than this is for you. We also want to welcome any teams being evaluated on Saturday, as well as anyone at Goldstock who is interested in learning more about therapy dogs.

In the past 3 years we have shared experiences, helpful tips and why we do therapy visits. This year I would like to ask volunteers to share any stressful situations you have encountered on a therapy visit.. What are the signs of stress you see in yourself and your dog and how to handle stressful situations as a team.

If you have a therapy dog we at Goldstock would like to recognize you and your dog for service to your community. Please click below to register for the ceremony, date and time will be announced at a later date.
